New Happenings For Fall at Lucy Restaurant at The Bardessono Hotel
If you have been following along on my blog and Instagram, you may have seen my past few trips to Lucy Restaurant and Bar at the Bardessono hotel, if not, pay attention, because you are truly missing out! In July a group of us gals were invited to experience Lucy’s new Brunch menu. That visit cemented my love affair with all things Lucy and the Bardessono Hotel – note to self, must find a way to stay there overnight. The reason I say that is because it just seems like the dreamiest place to lay your head, each room is set up to be its very own spa like retreat and if you want a spa service, they come to you!
If you can’t afford to stay at the Bardessono Hotel, the next best alternative is eating at Lucy Restaurant, the service you will receive is so thoughtful and precise. They seem to think of every detail, which is key when you are located in a town known for having some of the best hospitality in the country!
When the invitation came in to experience the new fall dinner menu, I was more than game! My husband and I, joined by our dear friend Melissa (Broke & Bougie) made our way to Bardessono and arrived just in time for the cocktail demonstration given by their sommelier. We sampled their season cocktail, “Tennessee Ernie Visits,” which included:
makers mark, pumpkin puree, pecan bitters, brown sugar simple syrup…… It was so refreshing and balanced with the pumpkin puree and pecan bitters, it was like a pumpkin pecan pie with Makers Mark…….ummm yes please!
After the brief cocktail presentation, which also included a sneak peek at their tableside Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar, we were escorted into their main dining room for dinner! I wasn’t sure what we were in store for, but I am sure glad I had a light lunch because we sampled an incredible array of dishes from their fall menu. We started with the Diver Sea Scallop, perfectly seared on Blue Corn Grits, Sunchoke, Poached Celeriac and Petite Kale ($17). I was in love with the presentation which you can see from my shot below!
Our Second course the Lucy’s Garden Duo came with Tuscan Kale, Root Vegetable with a Mulled Cider Vinaigarette, in addition to another tableside course of Pumpkin Bisque with Pepita Pesto, Focaccia Round and Rendered Pancetta – soup and salad done the right way if you ask me…I hate when you have to pick just one, so this was a treat! Our third course was a Pistachio Crusted King Salmon on top of Acorn Squash Coulis, Braised Collard Greens and Watermelon Radish ($34). The main course for the meat eaters at the table was a Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast with wild mushroom bread pudding, rainbow swiss chard, chestnut coulis, pomegranate seeds ($36), if you are a vegetarian, they served the loveliest Fall Vegetable Risotto, which thankfully my friend had ordered and I got to also sample. Thank god for friends who don’t mind sharing, even when I can’t share the favor!
Each course we were offered a different wine pairing and that was an absolute treat, the sommelier did not hold back and pulled out some really special bottles. Overall this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. The Napa Valley is synonymous for service, wine and food…but sometimes it takes a place like the Bardessono to remind us all what that looks like…Bravo to the team at Bardessono for knocking it out of the park! I can’t wait to return for brunch and send all of my friends, family and clients in to experience the new fall menu! A couple of highlights to keep in mind....
- Happy Hour is served Monday through Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with great deals on cocktails, beers, wine and appetizers in their bar and lounge area!
- The menu we received was quite special and not all items are featured on their regular menu!
- Bardessono is DOG FRIENDLY....bring your pup and sit outside while enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner!
- Chef Nate Lindsay is probably one of the most accommodating chefs I have ever met, so if you are vegetarian, vegan or gluten free, chances are he will make you something all your meat loving friends will be jealous of! Trust me, I wish I had said I was a vegetarian after seeing my gal Amber and Melissa's dishes....Devine!
