COUNTRY RUSTIC CHIC
Growing up in the Napa Valley is a wonderful thing. My family resides in the Carneros AVA, famous for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay... Our homestead located on Henry Road, covered over 400 acres of land and is now the site of Artesa Vineyards and Winery. My grandparents didn't move too far, having settled away from the original ranch less than 1 mile away on Old Sonoma Road...My grandpa sold his ranch in 1981, however if you visit Artesa Winery you can still see the little white and green house that he was born and raised in!
For this Photoshoot I decided why not kick it old school and pull over for a few shots in the mustard just behind my grandpas old house! What I didn't realize would happen, this amazing light followed me around the entire property. The pictures as you can see all have a small light blocking the photo....I mean sure, it was a sunny day, but not one photo didn't have that very strange, dare I say "ghost like" orb of light in front ! My grandpa passed away four years ago and I never met my great-grandparents....the idea that they were there checking out my shoot, most likely saying "what the heck is she wearing and why is she in our yard," call me crazy, but they or someone was absolutely there hanging out with me that day.
I found my dress, this royal blue off the shoulder Ruffled piece of gold from Sisters Boutique in Yountville's Vintage 1870 Shops (lunch break shopping addiction).... My shoes are Report brown leather wedge sandals with gold embellishments, my purse is a vintage Fendi bag that my aunt gave me many years ago and it is so timeless, I will use it forever!
