Favorite Maternity Items: What Saved Me and What I Could Have Gone Without!
These are all some of my favorite maternity items, as I have mentioned on instagram, I didn’t go crazy investing in maternity pieces, mostly because I have been pregnant through the winter and could get away with wearing big sweaters and leggings that still fit me from pre-pregnancy! All items are linked by clicking on the photos, hope that this helps any new moms out there who’s belly’s haven’t expanded yet…it will and when the time comes having something cute but comfortable and wearable, will help a LOT. If you are a first time mom like myself, I suggest investing in these items as you get closer to 5 or 6 months as that is when your belly typically “pops” as they say. Mine really didn’t pop until 25-27 weeks and even then it didn’t get “big” until 30 weeks, so it really depends on your body shape and size! Wishing you all the best in this journey!
1. Blanqi - These leggings and support tanks were LIFE. I wore the tanks everyday under sweaters and to keep my pants from falling down…this way I didn’t have to invest in tons of maternity jeans and even those I did invest in, they still fell down besides one pair and these helped them stay secure so you aren’t constantly adjusting yourself….they are an investment, but I suggest buying during a sale (I bought on black friday) and they will be well worth the amount you wear them…I am literally wearing the Hipster leggings as we speak!
2. Old Navy Maternity - I really enjoyed spending very little on some great statement pieces from Old Navy. The long sleeve midi dress got me through a few different nicer events when all you needed was an LBD and then accessories. The flannel and sleeveless options are things I would highly suggest for spring and summer! With price points under $30 on each piece, its a no brainer ! However I wouldn’t suggest their maternity leggings, they are pretty cheaply made and after wearing ONCE, they ripped a hole in the side of my leg….like most random place ever, granted they were like $10, so basically you get what you pay for!
3. Pink Blush Maternity - such a GREAT brand for all things maternity, literally they have EVERYTHING you could possibly need and it ships really quickly. I love the grey sweater, its the softest and has a great amount of stretch without losing its shape. The robe I got is sooooo soft and something I will be taking with me to the hospital when little Mac decides to make his debut! For casual pieces, I love anything simple, and a nice empire waist never hurt nobody! I actually wore the top of the right at 20 weeks and you could barely tell I was preggers and then again at 30 weeks, what a difference, but its nice and long and covers in all the right places!
4. Jessica Simpson Maternity Jeans - these proved to be my favorite maternity jeans. They are soft, but stay up, the band isn’t too tight or loose and they have a great range of different washes and are on trend. The price point is also super lovely with most less than $40 each, the investment for the amount you will wear them (everyday) is a great value!
