The Gift That Keeps On Giving: Fuego Box
I have loved spicy food for as long as I can remember. Probably because my dad started taking me to lunch at mostly his favorite Mexican restaurants, basically from the point I could chew solid food! My husband and I are the types that already have 6 - 8 different hot sauces in our fridge to begin with, but they are like, ya know, the boring old Tapatio, Valentina, Crystal etc....
When I was approached by Fuego Box to try out their "Hot Sauce Of The Month Club," I was ECSTATIC ! I replied immediately, "How Soon Can It Be Here?" Shortly after I received my first two boxes and I have been thoroughly impressed! For starters the concept is incredible, let's promote small batch hot sauce producers and send their products through our monthly club....supporting small and taking the edge off of having to choose at the grocery store! I hate being THAT person in the aisle at the store staring things down, so having it shipped to my house to sample at my leisure, totally spot on!
I originally got this package before the holidays and was able to sneak a couple bottles into my honeys stocking. They were a total hit. We particularly love the Zana Organic Hot Sauce, which came in super handy during my month on the "Whole 30." The Zana is whole30 approved, when fancy that, not many hot sauces are whole30 legit! Bravo Fuego Box for looking out! The other sauce I have been in loved with and is sadly almost gone, the Honey Squash Hot Sauce. It’s a the perfect blend of spicy and heat, with a light vineyard / tomatillo base. You can order individual sauces online or you can do their Hot Sauce Of The Month Club for $29.95 per month (includes shipping). You will be sent 3 different sauces, a notebook for your own notes and then tasting notes on each Sauce! I feel like they took some cues from wine industry and I’m loving it, the tasting notes, the packaging, it’s all good. If you’re lookimg for a Valentines gift for your hubby or your spicy gal like muah.... I suggest Fuego Box, especially since it can be enjoyed by the whole household !
I experimented with a few different recipes and one was a big hit, taking the Born To Hula Harvest Sauce and mixing with Mayonaise to make a spicy aioli for these mini beef sliders (not picturered because we ate them too quick!). I put the Zana Sauce on my eggs and avocado mix I have for breakfast, not too spicy, almost like it’s a tomato based sauce with some heat vs super spicy hot sauce. I don’t mind that, it’s nice having levels of heat ! Hope you enjoy this new found life hack.... gift it to whoever in your life, or yourself and skip the grocery aisle! Xo
