Yountville CA: The Northblock Hotel
Yountville has held the cache of being “the place to stay” when visiting the Napa Valley for a long time. They were quick to jump on the hotel train and offer most of their retail space to tasting rooms and restaurants vs traditional businesses (I mean those are traditional for our town!). If you step into Yountville, it’s almost like stepping into Pleasantville from the movie. They have a free trolly that runs through town you can jump onto to get to and from your next wine tasting.. free anything seems like a bygone era, so it’s a nice touch when your paying a pretty penny to stay and dine! Speaking of hotels, I recently got to stay at the North Block Hotel in Yountville and it was seriously like being transported to Tuscany with the design of the space and the little balcony feature in our room. We loved the architecture, the decor and especially the staff. I called on my way inquiring about bringing our pup and they were SO sweet. They offer a one time fee of $150 to bring your pup with, they’ll provide a bed, dog bowls and treats, it was a really nice touch.
In addition to the pet friendly vibes, they are so centrally located you literally have 5 tasting rooms within a 1 minute walk, multiple restaurants and one of America’s top dive bars Panchas directly across the street.. trust me, it will all make sense when you arrive, because it’s probably the best location of any hotel in Yountville! Check out Jessup Cellars, Handwritten Wines, Stewart Cellars, Girard Winery and or Beau Vigne’s tasting rooms all around the corner... for breakfast you can pop into Southside Cafe across the street for their delicious Avocado Toast, Egg Sandwiches, Croque Senorá and or biscuits and gravy! Dinner options aren’t limited either; Ciccio’s, R+D Kitchen, Reddwood, French Laundry (if you’re lucky enough to score a reservation).... so yeah you’re options are not limited.
The best thing about the hotel was honestly the beds and bathrooms, jacuzzi tubs and the softest blankets and linens adorned the bed, oh and the cozy robes weren’t a bad touch ! Highly recommend you run, don’t walk to book your stay at the North Block!
